To my dearest sec
These are just some last words that i wanna say to you guys since i have officially stepped down as ur drill instructor. Okay relating back to the training on the 30th where u guys told me to give my last words during the last 5min or so b4 the parade ended, im so sorry i din manage to say much k becos my whole mind was in a state of blank but dont' ask me why though. Ok so yah ever since i was appointed as drill instructor of ur squad in june2008, i was rlly contented with my appointment becos i had absolute faith in ur squad and also becos i was interested in taking u guys =]
So yup, the first drill session with u guys started & i knw many of u were sort of unhappy with my strictness in handling you guys? But im glad it all turned out okay in the end. Haha so yeah drills session with you guys have been fulfilling, really fulfilling. You guys may not understand this fact now but do u knw that when u guys were learning the drills i taught, i at the same time, as a drill instructor had learning points to pick up too? Haha okay u guys may not unds it now but when all of you become NCOs, u all will get wad i mean le. So as time passed by, ur promotion test was getting nearer and nearer and many of u including ourselves ( your ics and me) were worried that we couldnt finish the syllabus that was required for promo esp static drills. U guys din even knw a single ting abt static drills in october when the promo was in novemeber?!? Lol but im glad it all turned out fine. Rmb the times when we were so desperate for trainings tilll we even tried to plan drill sessions after sch and even on saturdays? But to no avail in the end hahaha. Toking abt promo, u guys btr keep the promo notes i gave u ah -.- esp the static drills one, i spent alot of time doing and editing it.
I must say kudos to all of u who passed ur promotion test but this is only ur first promotion test and it is definetely the easiest one of all promos to pass so pls do not turn complacent and slack uh. Continue to work hard and come regularly for np parades! As for those who din pass rite, dont feel disheartened or discouraged k. I knw many of u felt that some of ur squadmates who din work as hard as u got promoted while u din, causing you to feel demoralised, saying that life is unfair blah blah blah. But wad i can say is, taking this as a learning experience. Life is not a bed of rose, there are bound to be obstacles on the way, so yup as the saying goes ''failure is the mother of success.'' Take this failure as a form of learning experience and make it be a form of encouragement to strive harder for the next promotion test.
I myself din pass my first promo too, lol. But that was becos i missed it and there wasn't any make up for it. lol -.- But wadeva it is, i hope you guys get wad i was trying to convey to you guys k. NP life wont be smooth sailing at all, which is a good thing afterall. Sounds ironic but if np life is gna be smooth sailing, by the end of the 4yrs when u ORD u wont attached to NP cos u wont feel like u've learnt something from it. Trust me. It's through all these tough obstacles and problems along the way that are the factors that wld make u learn something. U guys will gradually unds wad i mean as ur ncoship approaches.
So yup i've finished my piece, lol. Oh n thanks alot to the whole squad for the sqad gift which is a tigger from minitoons or smth o.0 lol but thanks uh -.- u all gave me the present with the prize tag and receipt in it LOL -.- ok but wadeva it is, good luck with ur new ics and drill instructor. Learn to adapt to their teaching and workling styles, cos everyone has their different ways of how they take a squad.
So yeah, thanks for all that u guys have given me for the past 6 months or so. =]
Sec one squad 2008 will always have a place etched in my heart.
